01

Who we are and what this covers

Planned Chaos LLC ("Planned Chaos," "we," "us") is based in Nashville, Tennessee. We run ourplannedchaos.com, the Planned Chaos membership, the Planned Chaos Wedding Assistant, and the Planned Chaos Wedding Conversation Guide (together, our "services").

This policy explains how we handle personal information through our services. It does not cover other companies' websites or apps, even when we link to them. Their own privacy policies apply there.

02

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Forms. When you join our waitlist, request the free tools, apply for a consulting session, or contact us, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address, wedding date, and any message.
  • Membership and purchases. When you buy a membership or plan, we receive your name, email, the billing details needed to complete the order, and your purchase and membership history. Card numbers are handled by our payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Wedding Assistant. If you use the member-only Wedding Assistant, we collect your email address (to sign you in), the messages you send and the replies you receive, and a planning profile built from your conversations, such as your wedding date, guest count, budget range, location, and priorities.
  • Conversation Guide. If you use the member-only Wedding Conversation Guide, the answers you type or speak are processed to produce your results. We do not keep them. See section 3 for exactly how this works.
  • Email addresses you give the Conversation Guide. If you choose to email your results, we use the addresses you enter only to send that email.

Information collected automatically

  • Website usage. Our website platform (Squarespace) and Google Analytics use cookies and similar technologies to record things like pages visited, referring sites, device and browser type, and approximate location based on IP address.
  • Security and usage limits for our AI tools. To keep our AI tools secure, fair to everyone, and available only in the United States, our hosting provider checks your country and IP address on each request. We keep sign-in sessions and usage counts to enforce limits. For the Conversation Guide, usage counts are tied to a scrambled (hashed) code rather than your IP address, and they delete themselves automatically, usually within a day.

Please don't share sensitive information you don't need to, such as health details, Social Security numbers, or financial account numbers, in our forms or AI tools.

03

Our AI planning tools

Members can use two AI tools. They work differently, so we explain each one separately.

The Wedding Assistant

The Wedding Assistant remembers your planning details between conversations so it can help you over time. Your messages and planning profile are sent to Anthropic, the company that provides the AI model, to generate replies, and they are stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. You can view and edit your planning profile, and delete everything, inside the assistant at any time.

The Wedding Conversation Guide

The most important part

Planned Chaos does not save your Conversation Guide conversation or results on its servers, and we cannot recover them after you leave. To keep a copy, download it or email it to yourself before you leave the page.

  • How it works. The guide sends the answers you type or speak to Anthropic's AI so it can spot questions you've already answered and write your planning summary. Your answers are sent only to produce these results. Planned Chaos does not store or log them.
  • Contact details are removed first. Before anything is sent to the AI, the guide removes email addresses, phone numbers, and card or Social Security numbers from your answers. Your own download and email keep everything you wrote.
  • Voice input. If you choose to speak your answers, your web browser's built-in speech service turns your voice into text. Depending on your browser, that service may be provided by Google (Chrome), Apple (Safari), or Microsoft (Edge), and their privacy policies apply to it. Planned Chaos never receives, records, or stores audio.
  • Copies on your device. A copy of your answers and summary stays in your own browser on your device, so the course page can show your starting plan. It stays there until you clear it, or it's erased when you leave if you choose that option. Anyone who uses the same browser on that device could see it.
  • Emailing your results. If you choose to email your results, they're sent once, through our email provider Resend, to the addresses you enter. Each address gets its own email. Planned Chaos does not keep the email or the addresses.
  • Encrypted files. If you save an encrypted file to move to another device, the file is protected with a passphrase you choose. We never see your passphrase and can't open or recover the file.

Rules for both tools

  • Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use the information we send it to train its AI models. It may keep that information for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring, as described in its own privacy policy.
  • AI replies can be wrong. Please check anything important before you rely on it. The tools do not give legal, medical, financial, or tax advice.
  • If your answers mention abuse, threats, or a crisis, the tools may share hotline information. They do not contact anyone on your behalf.
  • Both tools are available only to members in the United States.
04

How we use information

  • To provide our website, membership, and AI tools, including remembering your planning details in the Wedding Assistant.
  • To process payments and manage your membership.
  • To send sign-in codes, order and account messages, and replies to your questions.
  • To send newsletters or updates if you sign up for them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, keep our services secure, enforce our Terms of Membership and Use, and comply with the law.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising. We never use your Wedding Assistant or Conversation Guide content for advertising.

05

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Planned Chaos, and only as much as they need to do that work. They are not allowed to use it for their own purposes beyond what their own terms and privacy policies allow.

  • Squarespace: website hosting, forms, member accounts, commerce, and email campaigns.
  • Payment processors (such as Stripe or PayPal, depending on how you pay): payment processing.
  • Google: Google Analytics for site statistics, and Google Workspace and Gmail for business email.
  • Anthropic: provides the AI model behind the Wedding Assistant and the Conversation Guide.
  • Cloudflare: hosts our AI tools. For the Wedding Assistant, it stores your sign-in, conversation, and planning profile. For the Conversation Guide, it stores only short-lived usage counts.
  • Resend: delivers Wedding Assistant sign-in emails and Conversation Guide results you choose to email.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business. If that happens, this policy will continue to apply to information we already hold unless you agree otherwise.

06

Cookies and analytics

Cookies help the site work, for example by keeping you logged in to the member area, and help us measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Our site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.

07

How long we keep information

  • Conversation Guide: not kept. Your answers and results are processed and then discarded. Usage counts delete themselves automatically, usually within a day.
  • Wedding Assistant: your conversation and planning profile are deleted automatically after 6 months without activity. You can delete them sooner at any time. If your membership ends, your assistant data is deleted.
  • Orders and membership records: kept as long as needed for your membership and for tax, accounting, and legal purposes.
  • Form submissions and mailing list: kept until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe, or until we no longer need them.
08

Your choices and rights

  • Delete your Wedding Assistant data: use "Delete my data" inside the assistant. This erases your conversation and planning profile and signs you out on all devices.
  • Edit your planning profile: view and change it in the assistant at any time.
  • Clear your Conversation Guide copy: use the erase option in the guide, or clear your browser's site data.
  • Email: unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
  • Access, correction, deletion, and a copy of your data: email ourplannedchaosmc@gmail.com. We'll respond within 45 days and may need to confirm your identity first. You can also ask someone you authorize to make a request for you.

Some U.S. states give residents specific privacy rights, such as the right to know, correct, delete, or get a copy of personal information, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We offer these choices to every member, wherever they live. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject line, and we'll respond within 45 days. We will never treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

09

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. These include encrypted connections, one-time sign-in codes, a member-only pass and signed sessions for our AI tools, usage limits, automatic removal of contact details before anything reaches the AI, and limited access to data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.

10

Who our services are for

Our services are intended for adults (18 and older) in the United States, and our AI tools are available only in the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information is processed in the U.S. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. For significant changes, we'll also email members before the changes take effect.
