Morgan’s Nashville picks: 3 venues for rehearsal dinners and wedding events
By Morgan Culpepper | Last updated October 2026
Nashville has no shortage of beautiful venues and talented vendors to help bring a wedding celebration together. The harder part is figuring out which ones are actually worth considering once you look beyond the pretty pictures and factor in what really matters: guest experience, convenience, flexibility, cost, and how much work you're creating for yourself.
Morgan's Nashville Picks is my growing collection of local businesses I've personally worked with, discovered, or simply think are worth a closer look. These aren't rankings or an exhaustive list of the best in town, but rather thoughtful recommendations and practical insights to help you explore your options and make informed decisions.
These three Nashville-area venues are places I recommend based on my own experience hosting or attending events at each of them. They aren't all the same type of venue, and that's intentional. Depending on what you're planning, your guest count and how much you want the venue to handle for you, one may make considerably more sense than another.
Quick answer: For a downtown Nashville rehearsal dinner with hotel rooms for out-of-town guests, choose the Fairlane Hotel. For a small private dinner of 18 to 24 guests with very little planning, choose Serrato's Steakhouse in Brentwood. For a riverfront space on the Cumberland River where you bring your own caterer, choose the Nashville Gun Club in West Nashville.
1. Fairlane Hotel (Downtown Nashville): best for out-of-town guests
Best for: Rehearsal dinners, especially for couples with out-of-town guests
Location: 4th Avenue North, Downtown Nashville
Morgan's ideal guest count: Approximately 50 or fewer
Official capacity: 100 guests; about 75 for a comfortable full seated dinner
Estimated cost: $1,000++ room rental; $125++ per person food and beverage minimum. Tax and service charges (++) are additional.
Parking: Valet available
The Fairlane Hotel is located on 4th Avenue North in an area of downtown Nashville filled with boutique hotels, restaurants and bars. The hotel itself occupies a converted former bank and has a vintage, mid-century-modern feel that gives it plenty of character without requiring you to do much to make the space interesting.
The fourth-floor event space was formerly the hotel's restaurant. It's spacious, has its own large bar and provides access to an outdoor patio.
For a rehearsal dinner of around 50 guests, I think this space could work especially well. There's enough room to create a combination of dining tables while still giving guests space to move around, visit the bar and mingle. Depending on the hotel's current catering offerings, you could also consider buffet or plated dinner service.
Why it's a Morgan pick
I've planned multiple corporate board meetings and board dinners at the Fairlane, and their staff has consistently been wonderful to work with.
The food is another reason it makes my list. I've served it to board members who travel extensively and live in places with exceptional dining scenes, including New York, and received compliments on the food. When I'm responsible for choosing where an important group is going to eat, that's the kind of feedback I remember.
It's also particularly convenient if you have a lot of guests coming from out of town. Guests can stay at the hotel, attend the rehearsal dinner in the same building and then explore downtown Nashville without needing to travel somewhere else. The guest rooms are spacious, and one of my favorite little Fairlane touches is the glass of champagne you're greeted with at check-in.
Morgan's highlights
Great food, a spacious and flexible event room, excellent staff, an on-site bar and the convenience of guest accommodations under the same roof.
Before you book
Parking is the logistical piece I would think through carefully. The hotel offers valet, but if you're bringing a sizeable group in at approximately the same time, ask how the valet will be staffed for your event.
I'd also give guests the valet price ahead of time and provide a recommended alternative for anyone who prefers to self-park. A little communication beforehand prevents 40 people from trying to figure out downtown parking five minutes before dinner begins.
2. Serrato's Steakhouse (Brentwood): best for small, intimate rehearsal dinners
Best for: Small, intimate rehearsal dinners
Location: Brentwood, Tennessee (south of Nashville)
Private dining capacity: 18–24 guests
Estimated cost/minimum: $1,500–$2,000 food and beverage minimum for evening events, depending on the day of the week
Parking: Complimentary
Not every rehearsal dinner needs to become another wedding to plan.
If what you really want is a private space, delicious food, drinks and an easy evening with the people closest to you, Serrato's Steakhouse in Brentwood is worth considering.
Serrato's has a private dining area that accommodates 18 guests at one long table or 24 guests at three tables. Because the restaurant already handles the food and bar, there are considerably fewer moving pieces than you'd have with a traditional event venue.
Why it's a Morgan pick
The food is delicious, parking is easy and the concept is simple.
For the right couple, that's exactly what a rehearsal dinner should be.
Rather than bringing in catering, renting additional pieces and decorating an empty room, you can focus on having a really good dinner with your family and wedding party.
Morgan's highlights
Great food, private dining, complimentary parking and fewer logistics to manage.
Before you book
Serrato's doesn't charge a separate room rental fee as long as you meet their food and beverage minimum. For evening events, that's $1,500 Sunday through Thursday or $2,000 on Fridays and Saturdays. If your group doesn't meet the minimum, the difference may be charged as a room fee. A 5% administrative fee, 20% service gratuity and applicable taxes are additional. A signed contract and $200 deposit are required to reserve your date.
While Serrato's doesn't offer traditional bar packages, I recommend requesting an alcohol estimate based on your guest count and preferences. For dinner, I suggest choosing from their prix fixe menu to streamline service and minimize delays between courses. Plan to budget approximately $85–$100+ per person for food and beverages, plus applicable taxes and fees.
3. Nashville Gun Club (West Nashville): best for riverfront events with outside catering
Best for: Rehearsal dinners, bridal showers and small wedding receptions
Location: West Nashville, on the Cumberland River
Capacity: Up to 100 guests
Estimated cost: $2,500 for a six-hour rental (catering not included)
Parking: Ample complimentary parking
The Nashville Gun Club may be one of the more unexpected venues on this list, and that's part of why I like it.
Situated directly on the Cumberland River, the property has what I personally think is one of the best views of the river in Nashville.
The event room sits at the back of the building. The river-facing side features glass garage doors, so guests can enjoy the view even when the room is closed. When weather permits, opening the doors connects the room to the deck outside and creates an indoor-outdoor gathering space overlooking the water.
Inside, wood tables give the room a slightly rustic feel, but this is largely a make-it-what-you-want-it-to-be venue.
Why it's a Morgan pick
I've hosted a birthday party here and found the staff friendly and accommodating.
Unlike the other two venues on this list, the Gun Club doesn't provide in-house catering. For some people, that's a drawback. For others, it's exactly what makes the space appealing: you have considerably more freedom to choose your food and build the event you want.
There's an adjacent kitchen/service area that can be used for food or a buffet, leaving the primary event room available for tables and gathering.
I'd consider the space for a rehearsal dinner, bridal shower or even a small wedding reception.
What I'd do here
I'd keep the main riverfront room focused on the party itself and use the adjacent area for buffet service. I'd take advantage of the existing wood tables, and I'd absolutely make the river and deck part of the experience.
And if you inquire about hosting your event here, tell them Morgan Culpepper sent you.
Morgan's highlights
The Cumberland River view, indoor-outdoor potential, flexibility to bring in your own catering and décor, friendly staff and ample free parking.
Before you book
This is the venue on the list where I'd pay particularly close attention to what isn't included. Ask about catering requirements, kitchen access, alcohol/bar policies, setup and cleanup responsibilities, décor restrictions, rentals and exactly which tables and chairs are included.
How I'd choose the right venue for your Nashville event
These aren't three interchangeable event venues.
If I wanted a polished downtown rehearsal dinner with accommodations for out-of-town guests, I'd look at the Fairlane Hotel.
If I wanted an intimate rehearsal dinner without creating another event that required extensive planning, I'd consider Serrato's Steakhouse.
And if I wanted flexibility, river views and the ability to build the event more from scratch, I'd look at the Nashville Gun Club.
The best venue isn't necessarily the prettiest or most expensive one. It's the one that fits the kind of event you're actually trying to host, and makes the experience easier for both you and your guests.
